2010 New Years For Train Enthusiasts
at The Depot Inn & Suites and Silver Rails Event Center
in La Plata, Missouri

There will be a 2010 New Year Celebration at the Depot Inn & Suites with events scheduled from New Year's Eve on Thursday, Dec 31, 2009 through Sunday, January 3, 2010, at the Depot Inn & Suites in La Plata, Missouri.
Train enthusiasts throughout the nation are invited to come celebrate New Year's Eve in La Plata. This will be the first of a new tradition of New Years for Train Enthusiasts at the Depot Inn & Suites. Come and take part in a new railroad tradition!
A special rate of $85 per night for rooms is available for this
event, or $150 for all 3 nights (Thu, Fri, Sat, Dec 31-Jan 3). Sorry
but the four suites are all sold out for this event. But you must call
877-459-5900 for this special rate. You can not get this rate by
booking online. Our normal affinity discounts (AAA, AARP, NARP, military, etc.) can be used on booking rooms for this event. Click here for details.
A lot of train enthusiasts from across the nation may want to participate in the first year of this new annual tradition, but there are only 30 rooms in the hotel. Please call 877-459-5900 to make your hotel and travel reservations soon before the hotel fills up. Once the Depot Inn & Suites fills up, we can accommodate additional guests in other nearby hotels and will provide free shuttle service to events. But for the best experience, you'll want to stay at the Depot Inn & Suites to be right in the thick of things with other train enthusiasts immersed in a rail themed environment!
If you'd like to come earlier than Thursday, December 31, 2009, or stay later than Sunday, January 3, 2010, you may do so at 50% off the regular room rate for those extra days! If you'd like some guidance on where to explore and where else to watch trains beyond the Lookout Point before or after the special 3-day New Years Event, members of the APRHF (American Passenger Rail Heritage Foundation), the staff of TrainWeb.com, the Depot Inn & Suites, Railfan's Friend, and the Amtrak La Plata Depot are there year round and are happy to help! Plus, Chris Guenzler, railfan and travel writer, will be arriving several days before and staying several days after the 3-day event and would be happy to provide his suggestions and often his company in railroad explorations around the area. For the die hard train enthusiasts, you are more than welcome to join Chris Guenzler and head out just before midnight to ring in the 2010 New Year at the Lookout Point! Or you can ring in the 2010 New Year with the rest of us that will be celebrating right in the hotel.

If you need any help with train, plane, hotel or car reservations, please call Carole Walker at 877-459-5900. A rental car is not needed if you only plan to come for this Train Enthusiast New Year's Extended Weekend Event as shuttle service will be provided. But if you will want to go off on your own, car rentals are available. Either call Carole at 877-459-5900 or click here for additional travel information.
